Lessons From Litigation

Bill preventing ergonomic injuries in Washington passes 19 years ago, an initiative was passed to ban regulating workplace practices that contribute to musculoskeletal disorders and ergonomics. However, in early 2022 a new bill was introduced to overturn the ban, H.B. 1837. This New bill allows Washington state to implement regulations requiring employers to establish procedures that will prevent work-related musculoskeletal disorders. This has to lead to multiple lawsuits against Amazon for warehouse practices that have contributed to musculoskeletal disorders.
